Daal Makhni | Super creamy & delicious lentil | Areeba’s kitchen

To boil the lentils:

Red kidney beans                                           ½  cup

Black lentil or urad daal                               1 cup

Ginger garlic paste                                         1 tablespoon

Red chilli powder                                            1 teaspoon

Salt                                                                     1 teaspoon

Put all the ingredients together and around 2-3 liter of water cook till lentils become tender,

Use instant pot it needed!

Meanwhile lets make a masala/gravy

Tomatoes                            2 medium (blend with ½ cup of water)

Ghee                                    2 tablespoon

Butter                                   2 tablespoon

Ginger garlic paste            1 tablespoon

Kashmiri red chili              1 tablespoon

Garam masala                    1 teaspoon

Coriander powder             1 teaspoon

Turmeric powder              ½ teaspoon

Salt                                        1 teaspoon or to taste

Cream                                 ¼ cup

Dry fenugreek leaves      1 tablespoon

In a pot add butter, ghee, tomato puree and red chili powder

Cook till the oil starts to appear,

Now add boiled lentils along with remaining water,

Along with, garam masala, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt

Keep cooking until lentils become smooth and mushy,

Use masher if needed,

Now add cream and dry fenugreek leaves,

Cook for few minutes,

Garnish with some fresh coriander, green chillies and more cream

Yummy delicious daal maknhi is ready to serve with naan or rice

And don’t forget the pickles!!!
