Yeast is a healthy micro organism, which helps us in getting the elasticity and volume in our breads.
Better to test the yeast before, otherwise you will not see the desired result
Make sure yeast should have,
- Nice off-white or light brown color,
- Not too long granules,
- Pleasant smell,
To test the yeast whether is alive or dead you will need
- Yeast 1 teaspoon
- Salt ¼ teaspoon
- Sugar ¼ teaspoon
- Water 3 tablespoon
Mix all the ingredients together and let it stay in dark and warm place for 10 to 15 minutes,
After 10 to 15 minutes you will see the texture is foamy,
If the texture is foamy it means the yeast is alive and active to use.
You can this test in your recipe as well.
Make sure you store the yeast in air tight container in fridge or in cool place.
