Baking soda
Baking soda is sodium bicarbonate and acts as an tenderizer.
To test the expiry of baking soda, take little baking soda in a spoon add few drops of vinegar, if bubbles appears its active.
Store air tight container.
Baking powder
Baking powder is mixture of bicarbonate and a weak acid and it increases the volume and lightens the texture of baked goods
To test the expiry of baking powder, take little baking powder in a spoon add few drops of water, if bubbles appears its active.
Store air tight container in refrigerator to avoid oxygenation.
