Namak Paray by Sadia Rafaqat

Namak paray Recipe:

Flour (maida) 1/2kg or 500gm
Cumin ( zeera) 1tsp
Salt 1tsp or adjust according to taste
Oil 1/2cup

Toast cumin seeds in a nonstick pan and set aside. Now take flour and add oil toast cumin seeds in it and mix with hand to make crumbs like to texture.. now add small amounts of water to knead the dough… The dough should be hard not the soft….make 3-4 balls from the dough..now cover the and set aside for minimum 30mins.

Now take one ball and place it on dry slab or you can use back side of pizza pan for this purpose too. Now roll it and make a flat roti but it should not be thin flat…now take the knife and cut the roti in horizontal lines from almost 1 inch distance apart and then make cuts in opposite directions to get diamond shape in small pieces.

Meanwhile heat the oil in pan for deep frying. Once the oil heats up Now fry the pieces in the oil and make sure to fry it on slow flame to cook from inside. Fry till light golden and place them in strainer or on paper towel to remove excessive oil… Let it cool down then serve.

PS: don’t use anything to when rolling the dough (no oil no flour dust nothing)

And it takes time to cool down so be cautious when serving to kids..
